This years Fairtrade team have been chosen:
Class 1 –
Class 2 –
Class 3 –
Class 4 –
Fairtrade Fortnight 2019
As part of Fair Trade Fortnight, each class focused on this year’s topic of ‘Cocoa’. Some of the activities included, tasting chocolate, investigated how much money is paid to the farmers for each chocolate bar, Fairtrade quizzes and watching some informational clips from the Fair Trade website.
Finally, each class took part in a bake off which our representatives sold at the end of school.
In the future, we have booked in one Fair Trade assembly organised for the representatives to deliver to the whole school. These representatives also want to deliver this to additional schools. Our team are very passionate about educating others. During our meetings, the representatives have requested that we organise and run a Fairtrade tuck shop. The team have picked and ordered a range of items that will be sold during the last week of Spring Tern.
A big ‘Thank you’ to everyone who was able to support our Fair Trade fundraising!
Great news, after all of our hard work the school has been awarded the Fairtrade Achiever Award. To gain this award we have to fully embedded Fairtrade into their daily life and work to raise awareness of Fairtrade in their local community. The members of the Fairtrade team helped to submit evidence to become a FairAchiever School which was assessed by an independent assessor.
Well done St Michael’s!
