Our Governing Body

Our Local Advisory Board shares the distinct aims, ethos and vision of St. Michael’s C of E Primary School and One Excellence Trust.  The Governors serving on Local Advisory Boards are accountable to the Trustees.

They work closely with Head teachers, school staff and representatives from the local authority. Governors are responsible to:

  • ensure their Academy complies with its legal obligations.
  • raise standards of academic Achievement
  • recruit staff
  • represent the views of the local community
  • manage school budgets
  • promote the values and ethos of the school and Trust

Governors ask questions, gather information and help make decisions about the school. Our school’s Governing Body meets in school once every term.  Under St. Michael’s current Governance structure all financial decision for the school are made at Trustee level.

It should be noted that the Governors of GCPS do not have a Virement & Expenditure Limit as their role is voluntary.
