School Office

Miss A. Willis in the school office is here to help you, however here are a few items that may be useful to parents and carers which you can view or download from our website.

You can also find information about the following:

  • Packed Lunches
  • School Meals Menu
  • Safeguarding Young People

Wrap Around Care

Our breakfast club starts at 8am and the children will be collected from the school gate. Our after school club runs until 4pm and the children will be brought to the school gate to be collected. Children should be booked onto wrap around care via parent pay. Where possible, children should be booked in a week in advance to arrange cover for the children. If this is not possible, if you could let the office know about child care arrangements.

School Opening Hours

School opens for our breakfast club at 8.00am each day and chill out clubs and after school clubs finish at 4pm. We charge for breakfast club and chill out club. We charge for some after school clubs and some are free. We inform parents of this termly.  These timings are optional and children are not required to attend.

The children can be dropped off between 8.45am – 8.55am. They should be dropped off at the zebra crossing where a member of staff will greet them. If anyone arrives after 8.55am, they will have to come through the main entrance.

The school day finishes at 3.15pm. The teachers will bring the children to the zebra crossing to meet their parents.

Pupils must be in school by 8.55am for registration and teaching ends at 3.15pm. This equates to 31 hours and 40 minutes each week.

Attendance and Absence

All parents of children of compulsory school age are under a legal duty to send their children to school regularly and risk prosecution if they fail in this duty.

It is essential for the continuity, development and progression of our children’s education that they attend regularly and punctually. If your child has been absent, it is important that you telephone the school office before 10.00am on the first morning of absence to inform us of the reason for the absence. This should then be followed up by a letter to school upon your child’s return. When no explanations for children’s absences are received, the school must record them as “unauthorised absence” and the Local Authority is informed.

Authorised absence is recorded when the parent gives an acceptable explanation of the absence to the school.  Please provide documentation for photocopying if children have appointments.

Valid reasons for absence are:

  • Illness
  • Attendance at medical appointments
  • Attendance at dental appointments
  • Attendance at therapy sessions
  • Religious or faith observances

It is helpful if we know in advance about any medical appointments necessitating absence for part or all of the school day. Children should be collected for such appointments only by a parent or other adult known to the school and should always be returned to the school office.

Child Collection/Missing Child Policy

School finishes at 3.15pm and children should be collected from school at this time. If you are going to be late collecting your child/children from school please inform us as soon as possible. If a child is left in school after 3.15pm they will be held in school and the parent/ career will be contacted.
